Summer in Sydney

Hi peeps!

Seems I was bitten by the travel bug. I wasn´t even home for two weeks and had to leave again for a week to go travelling through Europe. First I visited some friends in Ilmenau and saw a concert of the Delta Rangers, then I went to the AES Convention in Vienna with some uni friends to find possible topics and companies for my thesis and then, while being in the area I visited wonderful Mona, a good friend from Sydney who moved to Bratislava 2 months ago. Good times!

The pedestrian traffic lights at home don´t make a sound when they turn green. How should anyone know when to cross?

Dear Blog!

I did it. I´m home again. After 5.25 months in Australia, three weeks in New Zeland and now a 30 hour journey (and 6 movies, add an excellent `Stranger than fiction´ and a quite amusing `Night at the Museum´ to my last post) I arrived back home in Amberg today. Now, after having excellent German Bratwurst (grilled sausage) for dinner I will sleep for one week after which we´ll talk again. Good night :-)

Dear Blog,
I´ve just arrived in Dubai after 18 hours of flying (with a little stopover and lots of phone calls from Melbourne) and I´m just waiting for my next flight to Munich, which will take me HOME! I´m really happy now to come back. I´m writing this enjoying some (actually really good) soy flat white coffee at 7.00am. Dubai is crazy. Very very busy. The woman making the announcements is speaking arabic most of the time, and for some reason she always says the same thing and I always understand "Rechner an" (which means "computer on" in german). Maybe I´m just delirious, it is slowly getting to me :-)

The 14 hour flight from Melbourne was actually quite amazing though, I watched two movies, slept for 7 hours in a row (yeah!), watched another movie and BANG! I´m in Dubai. Went pretty quick. Movies I´ve seen so far in the last 20 hours: The Last Kiss (starring Zach Braff), (LOL sorry, she just said "Rechner an" again), erm, Scoop by and with Woody Allen, Casino Royale and Eragon. Wanted to watch The Illusionist, but didn´t get to it. Guess I slept too long, dammit ;-) Maybe on the next flight to Munich, which is gonna be 7 hours.

Dear Blog,

my time in Australia is almost over :(
only one week left to go, and then I will go to New Zealand to travel for three weeks with Daniel, my friend from Germany who is coming over for that time. 
I´m happy and sad at the same time! I don´t wanna leave Oz, but do look forward to travelling through NZ and then coming back home again. Well, can´t have anything in life, eh?

I have a feeling, that I won´t be able to access the internet that frequently in NZ, so have a little patience with new blog entries! 

So many things to do here in the last week! Better get started :-)
